The Penguin
The Penguin is one of Batman's oldest and most recognisable villains — a pompous crime boss whose theatrical style and aristocratic pretensions mask genuine menace. Tim Burton's grotesque 1992 portrayal by Danny DeVito, Colin Farrell's acclaimed turn in The Batman, and decades of animation have kept him among Batman's most prominent rogues across every era of the franchise.
Collector Notes
The Penguin's most valuable variant is a counterintuitive data point — his ceiling comes not from a vintage figure but from a single appearance in a £344.99 set released in 2023. High set cost means relatively few were purchased, constraining supply of that specific figure despite its recency. His floor remains low, creating a wide spread that is almost entirely explained by that one premium set appearance. The key collector question is whether the 2023 figure's premium is structural or whether supply will normalise as the set ages further into retirement.
